Why should I invest in cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics?

Your smile is an outward expression of confidence and joy. If dental issues (even “just” cosmetic ones) make you want to hide your smile, this can negatively affect your self-esteem and overall emotional wellbeing. Patients who opt for cosmetic dental treatment are more likely to care for their smiles with proper oral hygiene, and they can smile without feeling stress or embarrassment. That’s a win-win! Call today to schedule an appointment at Sauk Trail Dental or stop by our office located at 661 E Green Bay Ave Saukville, WI 53080.

Thorough Exam

By conducting a comprehensive oral exam, Dr. Cook will be able to identify any issues and categorize them by priority. Since cosmetic dentistry should only be performed on healthy teeth, he will let you know if any restorative work is required for your smile. Dental Bonding, Shaping & Contouring

Dental bonding uses a special tooth-colored dental resin that is applied directly to your tooth during treatment to match the shade of your smile. By carefully shaping and sculpting the resin, Dr. Rosenberg will correct the shape of your tooth and restore your smile’s overall look and functionality. Each tooth treatment takes only about 30-60 minutes, and the process is completely non-invasive.

Shaping & contouring is also called enameloplasty. This cosmetic process is often used alongside bonding. To shape and contour, a thin layer of enamel is removed from uneven, chipped, or pointy teeth to grant you a more even, appealing smile.

Veneers

Veneers are thin, tooth-colored porcelain shells that are attached to the front of teeth to treat small gaps between teeth, severe staining, misshapen or uneven teeth, and much more. Durable and long-lasting, veneers can completely transform your smile. Veneers are permanent and cannot be removed, because they require the removal of some of your natural enamel, which is an irreversible process.

Clear Aligners

One of the most popular treatment options for adults with crooked teeth, clear aligners comfortably and discreetly straighten teeth without wires or brackets. The process works by using a series of clear plastic aligners which are made with 3D imaging technology and are incrementally adjusted to gradually move your teeth into alignment.

What cosmetic issues do veneers and bonding solve?

Misshapen and uneven teeth or teeth with minor tooth damage can be repaired through bonding, shaping, and contouring. This treatment is pain-free and only takes one appointment, making it a fast, convenient option for patients who want to improve their smiles quickly.

The placement of veneers is a versatile cosmetic treatment that can correct a wide range of issues, including small gaps, severe tooth staining, and slightly crooked teeth. This treatment typically takes two appointments over the course of 2-3 weeks.

Am I a good candidate for ClearCorrect?

The best candidates for ClearCorrect aligners are patients who are motivated and self-disciplined. For ClearCorrect to work, you must wear your aligners 22 hours a day. This means that patients should only take out their clear aligners to eat and brush their teeth. If you don’t consistently wear your aligners, you could end up prolonging your treatment time and spending more money in the long run. If you’re excited about straightening your smile and you trust yourself to wear your aligners for most of the day - you’re a great candidate for treatment!

Is cosmetic dentistry right for me?

One of the main qualifications for cosmetic dental treatment is that the patient must have a healthy smile. This means that you must be free of cavities, periodontal disease, and other common dental issues before you can be a candidate for veneers, bonding, or clear aligners.

Sauk Trail Dental offers restorative care for patients who need fillings, crowns, or other corrective dental treatments. During your consultations, Dr. Cook will walk you through all of your options and let you know if you will need these treatments before continuing with veneers or bonding.

What if I need more than one cosmetic treatment?

During your consultation, Dr. Cook will ask you about your smile goals and perform an exam to determine which treatments you will need to achieve them. It is common for patients to require multiple procedures to get their dream smile. We’ll work with you to come up with a prioritized list of treatments that meet your needs. This list will be detailed and will offer a timeline along with expectations for the outcome of each of your treatments.

Is cosmetic dentistry covered by dental insurance?

Unfortunately, it is not common for cosmetic dentistry to be covered by dental insurance. Insurance providers often list cosmetic treatments as elective and unnecessary to the health of your smile. For most cosmetic cases, you will need to pay for treatment out-of-pocket. In some instances, your insurance may cover a small amount for treatments, but this is not common. If you’re looking for more details on your dental insurance coverage, contact your insurer. Be sure to also contact our practice to see if we can assist you with discounts or payment plans to help you cover treatment.

How much does orthodontics and/or cosmetic treatment cost?

The cost of orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry vary widely and depend on the severity of your oral issues and which teeth will need to be corrected. For that reason, the best way to get an accurate estimate of how much your treatment will cost is to book a consultation. We can’t wait to meet you and help you achieve your smile goals?
